(CNN) -- A former Ohio police officer accused of killing his pregnant ex-girlfriend will be arraigned Friday on aggravated murder and other charges, a prosecutor said Thursday.
Bobby Lee Cutts Jr., pictured in June, is accused of killing his pregnant former girlfriend.
Bobby Lee Cutts Jr. could get the death penalty if convicted of killing Jessie Marie Davis and her unborn fetus.
Davis' body was found June 23 in Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Summit County, Ohio, about 35 miles north of Canton, after a 10-day search.
She was due to give birth in early July. Fetal remains also were found at the site, police said.
Cutts professed his innocence soon after Davis' disappearance.
Stark County, Ohio, prosecutor John Ferrero told reporters that a grand jury returned indictments against Cutts and his friend Myisha Ferrell. Watch prosecutor announce the charges ยป
Cutts was charged with three counts of aggravated murder as well as one count of aggravated burglary, two counts of gross abuse of a corpse and one count of child endangerment.
Authorities said they suspect Ferrell helped Cutts dispose of Davis' body. Ferrell faces one count of obstructing justice and complicity in the abuse of a corpse, charges that could bring nearly seven years in prison if she's convicted.
She also will be arraigned Friday with Cutts, the prosecutor said. A pretrial hearing for the pair has been set for Monday.
Ferrero declined to give other details about the killing at a Thursday news conference in Canton.
"We fully intend for this case to go to trial, and then at that point in time you will be able to hear the circumstances behind this case," he said.
Cutts, 29, is the father of Davis' 2-year-old son, and authorities have said they believe he was also the father of her unborn child.
The former police officer is married and has two children with other women.
Cutts is being held at the Stark County jail, where he's being kept away from other inmates, Stark County Sheriff Chief Deputy Rick Perez said.
Davis was reported missing June 13. A search of her home found her son wandering alone in the house, which was in disarray. Furniture was broken, a lamp was toppled over and bleach had been spilled on the floor, police said. The boy told investigators that his mother was "in the rug." E-mail to a friend
