Joe Budden whose full name is Joseph AnthonyBudden was born on August 31, 1980 to Fay Southerland: father and mother unknown in Spanish Harlem, New York, United States of America. He grew up in Jersey City, New Jersey.
Unlike most of the other children but resembling a few others, Joe was at close range, indifferent to schooling. The few moments he spent as a student, he fully invested in his interest in rap. He started freestyling in high school along with abusing drugs. He claimed to have won many freestyle battles against several acquaintances from his high school. He had several emotional confrontations with his mom and thanks to her, he voluntarily checked himself into rehab on July 3, 1997, after a heated argument with her.
