Childhood

Tyler Priddy was born on the 30th of November 1981, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He is the son of Glenda and Gene Priddy. Tyler spent much of his childhood with his two siblings Chris and Ethan. Growing up in his hometown, the street racing scene was strong and Tyler, like every other kid, was attracted to the tracks. As a young kid, Tyler spent much of his early life around cars. He also met Justin Shearer, aka Big Chief, and struck a friendship bond. They would ride bikes together to watch drag races.

For education, Tyler attended Hinton Elementary before heading off to Putnam City High School in Warr Acres. He never went to college and started working when he graduated high school.

Professional Career

Flip started working as a storekeeper after graduating from Putnam City High School in Warr Acres, Oklahoma. He later joined the Warren Caterpillar Construction company, where he worked for ten years. He used his income to fund his hobby of building and modifying cars, especially his 1980 Chevy El Camino, which he nicknamed The Old Slut. He was also interested in a career in drag racing and participated in many illegal street races in Oklahoma.

Warren’s fortunes changed when he was sponsored by the Warren Cat to continue his drag racing. In the years that followed, Warrens started winning races left and right. This eventually brought him an opportunity to work on the reality TV series, Street Outlaws. He was drafted for the first season and as one of the meanest street racers in Oklahoma, racers were often terrified of Tyler. He drove the El Camino, which was referred to as ‘The Old Slut’, back in the day. And while he did all the hard work, Tyler never got the chance to see himself on TV. When the show was preparing for its release, Tyler met an unfortunate end.

Cause of Death

Tyler Priddy was found dead in his home on the 28th of May, 2013. Tyler was 31 at the time and was just starting to get into his career. After the news broke his friends and fellow racers paid tribute to him on social media and dedicated episodes of “Street Outlaws” to his memory. His car The Old Slut was inherited by Kamikaze, who continued to race with it on the show.

While there are no concrete reports, Tyler is believed to have died from a gunshot wound. Many thought that Tyler committed suicide, and the rumors were further fueled when Morgan Priddy commented,

“Suicide is so often swept under the rug, and I’m ready to share with the world how it shouldn’t be.”

Tyler’s cause of death has never been officially confirmed or disclosed by his family, friends, or the show. There have been many rumors and speculations about how he died, but none of them have been verified.

Tyler was laid to rest at Hinton Cemetery in Hinton, Oklahoma. You can find his obituary and memorial page at Find a Grave. You can also watch some of his racing moments and tributes on Street Outlaws and YouTube.

What he left behind:

While he lived, Tyler shared a loving family with his wife Morgan Amber Priddy. Even though rumors circulated that Morgan was cheating on Tyler, the man never doubted his wife. The couple shared four lovely children, Remey J, Bennett William Edward, Dresdyn Rinot, and Tovey Gene. With the absence of Tyler, little is known about what happened to his family.
